The TALK

Starting the conversation about puberty and sex is oftentimes awkward for both child and parent.  For the child:  I don’t know what’s going on with my body.  For the parent:  I don’t know where to begin talking with my child about sex.

The TALK is a class that opens the conversation. It includes the basics about changes that can be expected during puberty and the mechanics of sexual reproduction with a focus on God’s beautiful design and His best plan for us.

Our instructor presents this sensitive information in a safe environment in same-gender classes where one parent attends with the child (boys with their dads, girls with their moms).  The child and parent learn together that this experience is more than a one-time event; it begins what we hope will be an on-going conversation based on trust that will continue throughout the child’s development into adulthood.

The TALK is available to groups by invitation. The recommended minimum age level for this class is 5th grade girls and 6th grade boys with a minimum class size of ten per session.
